PS3 Video Picture formats and Linux?

I love my ps3 to death. But I have trouble getting pictures and videos on to it.

What video format does the PS3 accept?
Also, I have pictures my PS3 does not recognize. They are .jpg I notice that the wallpaper are jpeg?

How is the interface on a ps3 with linux? Will any version work? Will the media bar still be there?

No, the XMB Would be gone with Linux. It supports mp4 Video Format and jpeg is supported, not sure why it aint working with you
