is Linux Mint 8 going to be better than ubuntu’s karmic koala?
the sound is lot better in ubuntu’s 9.10 and the grub has improved somewhat…. but im looking forward to linux mint 8!
Ubuntu 9.10 is impressive but it feels a little unfinished at present having said that I have not committed myself and only run it from the LiveCD therefore cannot give a very accurate opinion
Unfortunately Hardware issues from what I read are abound which I see as sloppy work by the devs. one would have thought with the Intel Graphics fiasco with Ubuntu 9.04 such things would have been paid special attention to in Ubuntu 9.10 but it seems not to be the case
April 2010 will see the release of what promises to be the milestone release of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS only then I believe we will discover its full potential

Moving on to Mint 8 assuming the bugs in Ubuntu 9.10 have been ironed out then Mint 8 promises to be a stonking release however it has got to go some way to improve on Mint 6 (Ubuntu 8.10) and Mint 7 (Ubuntu 9.04) both of which I use on a regular basis

Incidentally GRUB 2 and ext4 that come as default with Ubuntu 9.10 can easily be applied to Mint 7 and Ubuntu 9.04
